SELF PORTRAIT IN CAP AND SCARF WITH FACE DARK. 1633. White & Boon 17; New Hollstein 120, an undescribed state between ii and iii (of v). Etching, 132 x 103 mm, on paper with a partial watermark showing the letter W with a 4 above, (see Ash & Fletcher Strasbourg Lily A.4WR.e). A fine impression in very good condition.
Provenance: S. Barden (1854 - 1917), Lugt 2756 and 218: For 25 years Siegfried Barden devoted his leisure to the serious study of the arts and collected, outside prints, small Greek artifacts and specimens of Japanese industrial art. The main artists represented in his print collection were: Schongauer, Dürer, Rembrandt, Ostade, Goya, and Chodowiecki Menzel. This amateur has always collected beautiful impressions.
