PORTRAIT OF JAN UYTENBOGAERT, PREACHER OF THE REMONSTRANTS. 1635. Bartsch/Hollstein 279v (of vi). Etching and burin, an octagonal plate, 226 x 188 mm (8 7/8 x 7 3/8"), trimmed just outside the platemark all around. A fine, rich impression in very good condition.
This is the last state worked on by Rembrandt himself, before the complete reworking of the plate in the sixth state by another hand.
It is beautifully framed with a deep marbled bevel and silk mat, in the shape of the plate.
