EL SUENO DE LA RAZON PRODUCE MONSTRUOS (THE SLEEP OF REASON PRODUCES MONSTERS). 1799. Harris 78.III.3 (of 12). Etching and aquatint. Plate 43 from Los Caprichos, third edition, 1868. A fine impression in good condition, except for a few foxing marks and a repaired tear in the margin. Harris states: "Made in the Calcografia for the Real Academia in 1868, it is the only edition to bear a date on the cover. Strong absorbant wove paper similar to that of the second edition. The edition appears to have been very small." And also “This edition is well printed and the impressions are still generally good.”
