"Yes, his is the law of Great Nature,
Which gives us Faith and confounds Imposture,
the true law of Equality,
the most sure guarantee of our Honesty,
something which unites servant and master,
subject and King, namely that we should, at all times,
wisely submit ourselves to that rigorous but supreme
treatment . . . the Cold Bath."
