THE HOLY FAMILY WITH ST. JOHN, THE MAGDALEN AND NICODEMUS. 1512. Meder 44 iii c. Drypoint on copper, 209 x 185 mm (8 1/4 x 7 5/16"), trimmed along the plate mark. The last state of this exceedingly rare drypoint. A fine impression with atmospheric wiping.
Provenance: H. A. Cornill-d'Orville (1790 - 1875), Director of the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, who was known for his Dürer collection (Lugt 529); Lessing J. Rosenwald (L. 1760b), and The National Gallery of Art (L. 1932d), also stamped "NGA Duplicate."
