A PIKE BEARER, after Goltzius. 1587. Hollstein 361 i (of ii). Engraving, 216/217 x 156/157 mm (8.51 x 6.14"), trimmed just outside borderline. Plate 9 from the 12-plate series Officers and Soldiers of the Bodyguard of Emperor Rudolph II.
A fine early impression with polishing scratches, in very good condition except for a short repaired tear into left edge and some staining on verso.
