Paula
Modersohn-Becker (1876 - 1907)
Paula Modersohn made only eleven prints, most in 1899. They
depict peasant life and surroundings in rural Worpswede. Modersohn
died, relatively unknown, in 1907 at the age of 31. There
were no lifetime editions of her prints.
BLINDE FRAU IM WALDE (Blind Woman in the Woods). 1902. W.
4iii. Etching and aquatint, 159 x 140 mm (6 1/4 x 5 1/2")
printed in greenish-black ink on thick wove paper with full
margins. A fine impression in very good condition. Annotated
"f. P. Modersohn-Becker" and signed in pencil by Otto Modersohn,
the artist's husband.
