A 70 foot long Whale stranded on the Dutch sea coast between Schevelingen and Katwijk, in Sprokkelmaandt, 1598, after a drawing by Hendrik Goltzius. Hollstein 1i (of ii). Engraving, 273 x 336 mm (10 3/4 x 13 1/4"), plus margins. Vertical centerfold which has split at top and bottom and been repaired, slight soiling in right margin.
